BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. That means that we need volunteers to make the event as amazing as possible
Volunteering is a great way to get involved and meet members of the community.
We require a commitment to work a minimum of 2 hours at the conference.
Safety & Security volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and general volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Exceptions will be made for younger children working with their parents.
Absolutely no experience required in order to volunteer to help make BSides Vancouver Island great.
Everyone who volunteers will receive a special volunteer t-shirt, volunteer badge, lunch voucher, and entrance into the event for free. You also get the warm-fuzzy feeling of helping make the first BSides Vancouver Island an amazing event.
As a general volunteer you will be called upon to help with guest check-in, guest greeting, setup, teardown, speaker assistance, AV, and much more.
Safety & Security Operations will help enforce fire codes, direct foot traffic, protect assets, and make sure that the conference is a safe place for all attendees.
Volunteers may be asked to move between responsibilities as the event goes on, so that we can provide proper coverage.
